Woodstock for Christmas Part 2

Woodstock for Christmas Part 2:

A Woodstock Christmas tradition that has been going on as long as I can remember is to greet Santa Clause when he arrives in the town. This Christmas Eve celebration is sponsored by the Woodstock Fire Dept. and the chamber of commerce has Santa entering in on the Village Green every year by some new and crazy means. Past years it has been a helicopter, another by a flying 60’s psychedelic Volkswagen Bus (how appropriate for Woodstock). Can be seen here.

Hundreds of people pack the closed off streets of Woodstock starting around 5ish. Around 5:30 to 6 the band will start to play and the singing will begin. Song list can be found in any store, but they are all classics so you will know the words.

This year Santa’s entrance was via gigantic white dove that descended to a gigantic electric guitar to form the 1969 concert logo.
